Meet Greg Woodard
Education: I worked full time to pay my way through college, first earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Tyler, then moving on to law school at Ohio State for my first year and UCLA for the final two years. In my last semester at UCLA Law, I worked for a federal judge, gaining my first and most formative look into the law from the other side of the bench.
Family: Linn and I have been happily married for 25 years. We started our family with our first two sons, Jake and Tyler. Several years later we added Emmie, Anthony, and Mia to the family through foster care and adoption. Linn is a teacher in a local public school, Jake just graduated from Boise State, and Tyler is working full time while pursuing a future career as a pilot. Emmie is at Idaho State studying Social Work, Anthony just graduated high school and hopes to work as an auto mechanic or lineman, and Mia is a sophomore in high school.
Faith: Faith and family direct all of my decisions in life. I grew up in church and recommitted to following Christ as a college student. My faith in God is the pillar of my life, our marriage, our family, and my career choices. I have volunteered in youth ministry since 2004, lead small group bible studies, and have served as an elder several times, including at our current church.
Foster Parenting: In 2010, Linn and I felt God calling us to become foster parents. Over the years as official foster parents, we welcomed several kids into our family and witnessed firsthand the struggles of family court. We added three kids to our family via the foster care system, adopting Emmie and Anthony in 2014, and after fostering Mia for two years as a baby and toddler before her reunification with a birth parent, we have welcomed her back to the family outside of the system several times, including permanently in 2023.
Personal Interests: Outside of work, I enjoy playing games with my kids, doing home improvement projects, and all things sports, both playing and watching. Tennis is my favorite to play, especially if I can join Jake and Tyler and one of their friends for a doubles game. Linn and I enjoy the outdoors, and Stanley has become one of my favorite places on earth. We love hiking in the Sawtooths in summer and skiing at Bogus in winter.
